Introducing Kentucky Spirits: Honor Your Kentucky Lineage

The Kentucky Genealogical Society is proud to unveil Kentucky Spirits, an exciting new lineage program created to help you trace and celebrate your Kentucky heritage. Just as Kentucky’s finest traditions have been passed down through generations, this program offers a meaningful way to preserve and honor your family’s unique legacy.

Applicants who successfully trace and verify their Kentucky lineage will be recognized as First Kentuckians. To qualify, applicants must be a member of the society and demonstrate that at least one ancestor lived in Kentucky in 1830 or earlier, marking their family’s deep roots in the Commonwealth. Each verified participant will receive a generational designation—such as being officially recognized as a 5th Generation Kentuckian or 8th Generation Kentuckian—a badge of pride that acknowledges the strength and longevity of their Kentucky heritage.

By becoming part of Kentucky Spirits, you will not only cement your place in Kentucky’s living history but also contribute to preserving the Commonwealth’s rich genealogical legacy for future generations.
