What You Will Learn
Declarations of Intent, Petitions for Naturalization, first papers, second papers, derivative citizenship, what does it all mean? This presentation will offer some context for the course by which an individual would become an American Citizen and help to clarify the meaning of these terms, and others you may run across in your search for your immigrant ancestry. Perhaps more importantly you will be given some ideas of the possible places you might look for the documents confirming their citizenship and methods by which to begin your hunt.
