Her wheelhouses include the late 18th through the early-20th centuries, with emphases on the state of Kentucky and African American research. A graduate of Berea College, she also holds a certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University and is a certified Kentucky Community Scholar. Cynthia serves on the board of the Kentucky Genealogical Society and is a member of the National Genealogical Society, the African American Genealogy Group of Kentucky, the Florida State Genealogical Society, the Greenbrier County (WV) Historical Society and the Monroe County (WV) Historical Society.

Pioneer Trails Research has been assisting others with History and Genealogical Research since 1985. I have 2 years of college work and am graduate of NGS home study course.  I started in Fayette County, answering the mail received by the County Clerk. I was the Historian for Old Union Christian Church in Lexington.  I co-authored the History of Old Union and transcribed the Old Union Cemetery along with the help of a boy scout doing an Eagle Scout project.  I am a lifetime member of KGS.  I have subscriptions to Newspapers.com and Ancestry.com. I will use the KY Historical Society, KY Library and Archives, court house records, county Historical Societies and any other sources available to assist you. I will do research in most Kentucky Counties, but the nearest to me are, Oldham, Henry, Trimble, Shelby and Franklin.
