What You Will Learn
Taylor Wolfolk survived slavery and the Civil War. He married Rhoda Ann Williams and they reared seven children in Indianapolis, Indiana. Although Taylor died before five of their offspring reached adulthood, it is likely that the couple’s strength, determination and foresight helped secure their progenies opportunities for a better life than the one Taylor lived.
Wolfolk’s identity was stumbled upon in a single census record. Over a dozen documents from a half dozen different record types give insight to his life.
