What You Will Learn
The speaker will provide insight into our society’s history and our efforts over the past 46+ years to elevate and preserve African American genealogy and history with our educational programs, special projects, and public programs. The presentation will also provide an overview of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. (AAHGS).
LaJoy Mosby serves as the National President of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. Her research focuses on Alabama and Kentucky. She is a member of the National Genealogical Society, Inc., a chart member of the African American Genealogy Group of Kentucky, the Woodford County (Kentucky) Historical Society, the Kentucky Genealogical Society, and the Alabama Genealogy Society.
Ms. Mosby received the Board for Certification of Genealogists in 2021 Paul Edward Sluby Sr. African American Scholarship and has completed several genealogy institutes.
She obtained a B.S. in Microbiology and an M.B.A. in Health Services Administration from Howard University.
