Do you have ideas for Second Saturday programs?
The joint KGS and KHS program chairs plan Second Saturday progams. They'd love to have your input on future topics and speakers.
I left a message in suggestions, but I will leave another here in Second Saturday Workshop ideas. I think Kandie demonstrating how to search online the SOS website would be great. She took a group of people upstairs after the last workshop and used one of the computers and demonstrated searching techniques for the SOS website and I think everyone could learn from her.
I have enjoyed hearing Maureen Taylor's podcasts where she shows how to use hairstyles, hats, and clothing to identify photos. Perhaps a session on using these tools to identify photos we have would be useful.
Also, using Google Maps to identify places where your ancestors lived. Lisa Louise Cooke's cd's on this are really great and I know we could use this to identify locations of old county cemeteries, or ancestral homes.
Thanks, Mitch. I responded in the other thread. We try to have Kandie on the program about once a year. ~ Linda
Thanks for the suggestions, Rosemary. Those would certainly be interesting programs. Unfortunately, cost is our biggest barrier to bringing in speakers from around the country for a free program. ~ Linda
