looking for Absalom Watkins

I would appreciate your help-I have been looking for Absalom Watkins for many years.  I have been unable to find his parents or his wife.  Absalom Watkins is in 1800 and 1801 Franklin County, KY census.  It is believed that he was married to an Elizabeth Steerman/Sturman.  Absalom was born in Virginia, I think.  He had nine children-most born in Virginia, but some in Kentucky.  His son, William S. Watkins married Elizabeth Baker in Franklin Co, Ky 11 sept 1796.
Elizabeth Baker was the daughter of Robert Baker and Claudia.(this was in the Forks of Elkhorn Church.)  The name Absalom Watkins shows up in Louisiana, but as far as I can tell that is his grandson,  Elizabeth and William move to Louisiana.
I think that Absalom Watkins was a surveyor.   Absalom Watkins was my 4th great grandfather.
I have been unable to find Absalom living out his life with his children.  I only have part info on his children.
I know I am looking for many things, but hoping something will lead to another.
Absalom Watkins-born abt 1750??  married to Elizabeth ??

John Watkins b abt 1784 died 10 Apr 1858 KY

                 Rebecca Watkins b 12 Apr 1790
                 Thomas Watkins
                 Absalom Craddock Watkins b1798 Kentucky
                 Sarah Watkins b Ky
This is the information that I have, and I am not sure the dates of the children are correct.
Any information that you can give will be greatly appreciated.  If you have any information about Robert Baker's wife Claudia, that would be wonderful.  It is so hard to find 'the ladies'.
Again thank you.  Valerie Hartnett
