Kentucky Genealogical Society

Organization

The KGS Board of Directors consists of the President, Vice-President, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past-President, and three Members-at-Large.
 
Officers are elected in November in even-numbered years to serve two-year terms. See KGS Bylaws for details about the nominations and election process.
 
Standing committees exist for Editorial and Publications, Finance, Membership, Program, Projects, Publicity, Seminar, and Technology. Other committees are created as needed.

Events
KGS holds an annual seminar on the first Saturday in August. The seminar features a nationally known genealogy speaker presenting four topics in one-hour sessions. Watch this website for details and registration information.
 
KGS hosts 2nd Saturday Genealogy workshops monthly except in August. These workshops offer genealogy/family history learning opportunities for KGS members and non-members alike. The venue is the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History in downtown Frankfort. See KGS Events for details about future programs and registration information. 
 
 
Holdings
KGS donated its genealogical collection to KHS on 8 May 1999, and that collection is now incorporated into KHS holdings in the Martin F. Schmidt Research Library at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History.
